The home of wheelchair rugby in Queensland
Wheelchair Rugby Queensland (WRQ) is a division of Wheelchair Rugby Australia, established in March 2024 with the intention to provide a dedicated wheelchair rugby organisation for the State. The formation of Wheelchair Rugby Queensland marks a significant step forward, with a single-sport focused sporting organisation providing comprehensive support and opportunities for athletes through the development and growth of wheelchair rugby in Queensland.
Wheelchair rugby has a strong foundation in Queensland with two clubs competing in the National League and two State teams competing in the National Championship.
As the 2032 Paralympics looms in Brisbane, Wheelchair Rugby Queensland is committed to creating an inclusive, accessible and competitive sporting landscape for all.
